Sunil Shetty Biography

Sunil Shetty(born 11 August 1961) is an Indian film actor and film producer who is mainly active in Bollywood. He was born in Mulki, near Mangalore.

Sunil Shetty made his acting debut in the 1992 film Balwaan which was a moderate success. His first major hit was the 1994 action thriller Mohra. Later that year he also had another hit with the romantic drama film Dilwale and the comedy film Gopi Kishan where he played a double role. He went on to star in many films throughout the 1990s mostly in the action genre. In 1997 he was critically acclaimed for his role in the war epic Border (1997). He went onto play patriotic roles in films such as Refugee (2001), Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003) and LOC: Kargil (2003). He also ventured into comedy roles in hit films such as Hera Pheri (2000), Awara Paagal Deewana (2002) and Phir Hera Pheri (2006). He won his first Filmfare award for Best Villain in 2000 for his performance in Dhadkan.

One of the promising stars to have hit the silver screen in the last decade Sunil Shetty stays clear of petty politics of the tinsel world and maintains a low profile. For this reason perhaps he has the choicest projects in his kitty despite his innumerable debacles at the box office.

He has changed his name to Suniel Shetty.

Often likes to do patriotic roles eg. Border (1997), Qayamat (2003), Mohra (1994)

Is considered a major action star in Indian cinema and his action abilities was the reason for his success.

His wife name is Manna they have two children named Atiya and Aahan.

He is a black belt in Full Contact Kick Boxing.

Is sometimes compared to Dolph Lundgren as his alter-ego from India.

He owns a company called "Popkorn Entertainment" which produces films.

He is mostly called "Anna" by his friends & costars.
